What to do with expired wine?

1. Bath with red wine, beauty treatment

If the red wine has deteriorated and cannot be drunk, you can pour the red wine into the bath water and use it to soak in the bath. The polyphenols in grapes can help jump-start the body’s circulatory system, increase skin elasticity, and even promote skin cell regeneration. Some even recommend using red wine as a skin toner, with the same acidity as white vinegar for smoothing and supple skin.

2. Cook food

If the leftover wine is not drunk in time, it will slowly turn into vinegar as it contacts with the air, but it becomes a good cooking condiment. You can marinate chicken and fish with red or white wine, garlic, soy sauce and sliced ginger for 30 minutes before cooking. Alternatively, red wine can be added to spaghetti sauces; white wine can be added to creamy sauces.

3. Clean fruits and vegetables

Wine, like baking soda, can be used as a natural fruit and vegetable rinse. Alcohol in wine can dissolve impurities on the surface of fruits and vegetables, and various components of wine can kill many pathogens in food such as salmonella and E. coli.

4. Disinfect kitchen utensils

The alcohol in wine can both remove stains and sanitize countertops. The best way to clean countertops is with a dry white wine, such as Sauvignon Blanc, as it won’t

5. Clean the glass

Spoiled white wine is actually similar to vinegar, so it can be used to clean glass just like vinegar. Add a few tablespoons of white wine to a spray bottle, add enough water, spray on glass or mirrors, and wipe with newspaper.
